Born in the Deep South

Deep South isn't just a place on a map. For us, it's the pull of cold Atlantic water, the smell of salt air, and the particular quiet that only comes from slipping beneath the surface.We are Liza, Layla and Eva, a mother-and-daughters team from the southern tip of Cape Town.

Growing up between mountains and ocean, saltwater shaped our lives long before we thought to build a brand around it. Beach days, tidal pools, kelp forests, snorkel adventures in cold green water, and the steady wonder of what lives beneath the surface. Deep South Oceanwear was built from that feeling.

The brand carries its own kind of generational weight. Liza grew up watching her mother sell hand-painted tablecloths at weekend markets, learning early that creativity and hard work could build something real. That same spirit now runs through Layla and Eva, who bring their own ocean-inspired vision and a fresh eye to everything we make.
